Cavs Corner is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ team report written by Chris Clever.

Team reports are articles written by the General Manager of each franchise. Whether it is weekly, monthly, or after every trade or game, c2c’s team reports are an inside look to each franchise. Maybe an explanation of a trade or a week in review of how the team has faired in games, either way, these are the words of the league and owners.

Brace yourselves.

Oden might be joining Gay, Roy, and Williams and Co.

The first season was quite boring in Cleveland, yes we have great talent in Deron Williams, Brandon Roy, and Rudy Gay but they were inconsistent and played no Defense at all. The Cavs played pretty well in spurts and people were thinking playoffs but that didn’t last but a week. It was a long long long season with a lot of loses and then the off season came around. With a lot of draft picks to work with we were hoping to trade them to jump into the top 3. With the 5th projected pick there wasn’t anyone there that could really help the team. Yi is good but just another scorer with no Defense. Noah would have been a reach at 5 even tho he is having a great Summer League. There really wasn’t a great Center unless you had a top 3 pick. Tried trading multiple picks and David Lee for a Center but no one bit. Some talks for an All-Star PF but that meant giving up my pick(projected 5th) and I did not want to trade it and it be a top 3 pick because with the lotto you just never know. Sure enough, with Dave making it harder to bare with every ping pong ball, the Cavs got into the top 3. It did not matter at this point i would get a STUDD no matter what and then Dave said CLEVELAND CAVALIERS wins the Lotto. I could choose between Kevin Durant and Greg Oden! The Balls bounced perfectly lol. But there are pros and cons of each player.

Greg Oden – Great upside and EXACTLY what i need to complete my team. Great defense, offense and rebounding. Everything you could ask for from a center. BUT he has never played a full season and missed his first year in the REAL NBA. He might be the next Darko or the next Bill Russell.

Kevin Durant- Having a outstanding Summer League. A great scorer. He is just an assassin at the offensive end. NO DEFENSE but amazing Offensive and Rebounding but I have Rudy Gay at SF and one would have to play PF and AGAIN I would go through the year with no center.

Decisions Decisions.

One of these men will be on a youthful and talented team in the Cavaliers with no one on the starting lineup is over 24.

Deron Williams – The point guard who led the team in scoring and in assists. Shows flashes of straight dominance but won’t lead the league in assists or scoring just a great all around player.

Brandon Roy – The shooting guard who will win Rookie of the Year and it isn’t even close. 2nd on the team in scoring and assists and will become a defensive stopper.

Rudy Gay – The next Shawn Marion. The Cavs defensive stopper leading the team in steals and blocks from the SF position. Has a bright future with being top 3 in ROY honors.

David Lee – Was hurt off and on. Very solid player who wont be ALL-NBA in anything but gets the job done on the glass and 13PPG on this team in impressive. He is our oldest starter and will go along great if paired with Oden’s defense and would move Lee to his natural position.

Cleveland’s Future is Brighter than ever with how the ping pong balls dropped. They still have the 13th pick and 16th pick with 33 million in cap after the rookies sign. It is VERY good time to be a Cavalier and thanks for not voting me out the league lol.
