Trading Places is an outsiders view of a trade that drastically changes the landscape of the league. Whether a team trades for an All-Star or unloads their franchise player, Trading Places will analyze the deal(s) for the teams involved and the league as a whole.
The Deal
Andre Iguodala and Matt Harpring for LaMarcus Aldridge, Rashad McCants and MIL 2008 2nd Rd Pick
The Breakdown
Dave continues to reload his team. After recently acquiring Eddy Curry and his man boobs, you knew Dave was up to something. Why else would be trade for someone that needs a bro:
So, it really comes as no surprise that Dave pulled off another deal. I just didn’t think it was going to come this quickly. What once was an amazing frontcourt is now well rounded with Paul – Iggy – Harpring – Curry – Dwight. However, I felt as though LaMarcus was a great compliment to Dwight and Curry is going to be a huge issue considering he needs touches to be effective.
On the other side, the Clippers finally have something resembling an inside presence. This however forces ‘Melo to play shooting guard. That can easily be fixed as Doty is already fielding offers for his All-Star wing.
Overall, I like the deal a lot more for this particular deal for the Clippers only because it now forces Dave to start Eddy Curry. However, after Dave’s three deals, he went from Childress and Emeka to Iguodala and Curry.
